The Poetry Journal is officially open for submissions for its third issue!
If you have a knack for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, this is the home for your work. They are moving away from heavy activism and "puffery," instead opting for poems that celebrate the subtle, the humorous, and the beautifully mundane moments of the African experience.
Submission Essentials
Theme: The ‘African Experience’ (open to everyone).
Genre: Poetry only for this issue.
Quantity: Maximum of 2 poems in a single Word document.
Bio: Include a simple bio (max 300 words).
Deadline: April 30, 2026.
What They Are Looking For
The editors are seeking "seasoned" writing, poemes that explore the ubiquitous and seemingly unimportant moments of everyday life, human experiences, and motivations in a creative and universally relatable way. Focus is on individual moments within the collective experience of groups. No plagiarism.

Online Release: December 1, 2026 (All selected works will be released in an anthology).
